We orient ourselves according to the general public, but also according to the members of ver.di.
Central to ver.di GPB activities is political education. Here, we offer a varied program of training measures. The subjects go from the occupational world to economics, from social and tariff policies to international issues and history, from communication to conflict management.

Society and the Occupational World. Burnout, stress, flexibilization. Patchwork professional biographies have become part of everyday life. The acceleration of work processes has a strangling effect on many. The global economy and information society characterizes the occupational world. At the same time, demographic developments, diminishing social aspects in society and value changes are modifying our society. How can employees survive these changes? How can work spheres and private lives be balanced? How can we politically influence our future? What are the challenges of multicultural life?
Economic, Social and Tariff policies. "Heuschrecken" (locust) capitalism is spreading. Managers are earning enormous salaries, while other incomes no longer suffice for a dignified life. Globalization is changing economics. Where is our social system going? What is the future outlook on our economy? What can be done when work runs out? What are tariff policies in the face of social change?
European / International Issues. For quite some time, the European Union affects our life more than we think. For quite some time, work places have become international. And for quite some time, human rights are endangered globally. Where are creative spaces in the European unification process? Which role does the trade union movement play in the EU? How does the financial system develop?
History / Current Events. The Weimarer Republic, National Socialism, the Revolution of '68, the Feminist Movement, Socialism. A look back helps to understand the present. How have sex roles changed? How was life in the DDR? Which consequences did the Fall of the Wall have to the present? What are the origins of the trade union movement? And how has union lobbyism changed?
Communication and Conflict Management. To hold a speech, lead negotiations, manage conflicts - the challenges at the work place and in organizations are growing. How do I express myself rhetorically correct? How can I lead meetings effectively? How do I deal with conflicts at the work place? How do I successfully argue against stereotypes?
Qualification. The educational system is complicated. It is difficult to keep an overview. What qualifications exist in Germany? How has the system changed over the past years? How do professions develop? How can politics influence the qualification system? How do qualifications work in other European countries?
Lobbyism in Economy and Society. The occupational world, the collective bargaining law, the EU-guidelines - economic and social politics are complex, yet exciting topics. The European Union will induce further changes. Just as exciting are the social phenomena which affect our everyday life: the power of media, the importance of labels, but also growing conflicts and radical social currents. How do our politics work? What is behind trends and labels? Which role does a person`s heritage play in their chances in life? What can we do against youth criminality and right-wing propaganda?
Community To enforce interests and engage oneself for social equality is important. And it is fun. Cool parties, creative campaigns, powerful actions. This demands professionality. How do I hold a creative speech? How do I convince in discussions and negotiations? How do I keep the attention of tired groups through lively facilitation? How do I solve conflicts and organize my work?
Introduction and Orientation. If you want to teach others something, you must learn yourself. After all, this is about supporting self-reliant learning, supporting people to reflect upon themselves and to further develop their competencies. Which tools are necessary to create a seminar? How can group processes be guided and seminars kept lively? How can I support learning results to be transferred into practical work?
Didactics, Methods, Social Competencies. Learning cannot be forced. Involving participants in the learning process through creativity, variety, appealing methods and fun. What is the suitability of subject oriented adult education methods or theater pedagogy? How can learning processes be accompanied? How can facilitators sharpen their perception and their articulation?
Political Education Nationwide. The seminars of ver.di GPB take place in the nationwide ver.di educational centers.
Political Education needs space for learning, where being controversial is fun. Spaces for concentrated learning, exciting debates, cultural exchange, for intense communication and cooperative actions. The ver.di educational centers offer such spaces. In a relaxed atmosphere the participants enter into communication, allowing for exchanges to take place. The educational centers are modern and professionally equipped. An attitude of cooperation goes without saying.
Political Education needs Experience. Experts, with great professional and pedagogic competence, are part of the ver.di educational centers team. They are professionals, who know how political education is successfully transported.
